DIY Cake Topper

If we were playing a word association game, and you said wedding, Id definitely say cake. The wedding cake is one of my favorite traditions and one of my favorite moments of the celebration. In Medieval England, cakes were stacked as high as possible for the bride and groom to kiss over, a successful kiss guaranteed a prosperous life together. Helen Frances of the London paper studio Frances and Frances creates some of the most beautiful paper flowers Ive ever seen and I adore her paper cut calligraphy cake topper. So I asked her to create a version for the DIY bride. This project isnt difficult, but it takes a little time perfect for keeping your hands busy while you binge watch your favorite TV show. -Amy Azzarito *We got this beautiful cake from our neighbors at Ovenly. It tasted as good as it looked. See all the project steps after the jump! (more)
