A House for Social Gatherings Amongst Art & Design

Design Milk

This family longed for a home that was not just a hub for socializing, but a place to be amongst their collection of art and designer goods. The firm to make it all happen was Fabio Galeazzo Design and this São Paulo home, called NS House, got an eclectic mix of vintage furnishings mixed with Italian, French, and Scandinavian furniture, along with a new layout perfect for socializing. The main social spaces were divided up for better flow, like the living room, cellar, dining room, kitchen, and balcony. The gourmet kitchen has some really cool elements like this unique shelving unit with geometric protruding tiles on the back. They also skipped the upper cabinets and instead went for a series of Fornasetti plates as decor. This dining room makes you feel like youre dining al fresco with the floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the lush greenery outdoors. They went bold in the dining room with orange being the key ingredient. All of the social spaces are divided but still remain connected with the help of massive passageways between rooms. The artwork and furnishings standout against the white walls and ceilings and light colored floors. In all of the spaces, Tibetan rugs made of wool and silk cover the floors. Exterior walls disappear letting the separation between indoors and outdoors vanish.
