Before & After: A Nursery Gets The Black & White Treatment

Design*Sponge

When interior designer Jennifer Schmidt was approached about redesigning a nursery for one of her clients, she knew she wanted to make a room that was fresh and updated?and the first thing to do was sort out that orange paint. We decided we wanted a modern nursery, Jennifer notes.  The client was so sick of seeing the orange-ish paint, we decided to paint the walls all white for a clean slate. This take on nursery decor, one that veers firmly away from the impulse to pastel-ify any room for children, is one we have been seeing more and more of (check out this other recent nursery flip). People, it seems, are learning that its possible to create a space that is both sophisticated and whimsical?one that can be enjoyed by parents and infants alike! Jennifers creation melds a sophisticated black and white color palette with modern forms and safari-influenced decor for a look that is both chic and playful. Thats one lucky baby! Check out all of the photos plus Jennifers notes after the jump! ?Max (more)
